Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass
A small stomach pouch is connected directly to the small intestine. The strongest track record for type 2 diabetes and for patients with significant acid reflux.

Weight regain after a previous operation, reflux after a sleeve, or an old gastric band causing trouble. Revision work is technically demanding and a substantial part of this practice.

The same program supports patients preparing for an operation, patients whose results have stalled afterward, and former patients dealing with weight regain years later.

About the surgeon
David R. Geller, MD
A Louisville native, Dr. Geller was the founding medical director of the bariatric surgery program at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital, which he led to Center of Excellence designation in 2009. He held Center of Excellence designation as a surgeon under the same ASMBS program.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering at the University of Illinois before attending the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed residency at Michigan State University, training with national leaders in bariatric surgery, followed by advanced laparoscopic bariatric training at Ohio State University.
All surgery is performed at PMC Regional Hospital in New Albany, Indiana — one facility, one operating room team, every case.
